The UPCA works alongside municipalities in the new school year

The Community Addiction Prevention Unit (UPCA) of the Department of Social Welfare and Health of the Camp de Túria Consortium is working intensively this August with the municipalities in the region that are part of the unit.

Thus, in order to plan the actions that will be developed starting in September, the technical staff of the UPCA is meeting with the technical staff and political leaders of the Social Services area, with the aim of presenting and specifying actions for school, family, and community prevention and to recover the indicated in-person prevention attention in the municipalities.

In this way, all the municipalities of Camp de Túria (except for La Pobla de Vallbona, which has its own unit) already have a specialist technician in Community Addiction Prevention.

In the coming months, in-person support will be provided to those in need and their families, as well as various actions and activities for school, family, and community prevention, such as the micro-story contest on the proper use of ICT, the so-called TecnOK, and the campaign “12 months, 12 slogans.”

In the school context, there is also an intention to boost the programs for promoting emotional well-being and preventing addictive behaviors from the Ministry of Health, so that they can be implemented in the educational centers of Camp de Túria.
